About the General Medicine Program
This specialty belongs to the field of Clinical Medicine, is delivered full-time, and lasts 6 years. Graduates receive the qualification of “General Physician.”
During the first three years, students study humanities, natural sciences, and biomedical disciplines. This stage builds a solid scientific foundation and develops crucial competencies such as clinical thinking, communication, and teamwork.
From the fourth year onward, the curriculum focuses entirely on professional medical disciplines. Students take in-depth courses in obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, internal and infectious diseases, surgery, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, and military medicine.
Future physicians develop the skills to diagnose diseases, choose effective treatment plans, provide emergency care, conduct preventive and rehabilitation measures, and perform different types of medical examinations, including forensic evaluation.
Training is conducted at the N.V. Sklifosovsky Institute of Clinical Medicine — one of the largest medical faculties in Russia with 49 departments. Students have access to 21 clinical bases, ensuring continuous practical training and direct interaction with real medical practice.
